Latex Condoms

HTHGS: Allergy to Latex Condoms (written by Alex Caroline Robboy, LCSW, CAS)

Ask Alex,
I tested positive for a latex allergy although I have never had symptoms. What is the safest alternative for condoms?
Allergic to latex,

Dear Allergic to Latex,
If you are allergic to latex condoms, try using condoms made out of polyurethane. Polyurethane condoms look exactly like regular condoms. In addition, the female condom is made out of polyurethane. Good luck.

HTHGS: Testing (written by Alex Caroline Robboy, LCSW, CAS)

Prior to becoming sexually intimate with someone, get tested together for all the sexually transmitted infections.  This way not only are you being 'protective' of your lovers safety, but of your own.  Once you receive the results, the two of you can make an informed decision about what you want to do.

Our Philosophy sex is like dancing, it changes every time. It depends on culture, atmosphere and mood. Sometimes it is done alone, with a partner or in a group. It can be fast and hard or slow and soft. Sex is a combination of non-verbal negotiation and verbal cues: a scream, a twitch of the toes, or a flush of the face. There is no one 'right' way to move, only what feels good to all those involved.
